Find a wealth of historic NC fun in Tyrrell county!

New Page 1

Tyrrell County was established in 1762 as a precinct of Albemarle County.  Columbia was selected as the county seat in 1799.  While visiting us, walk the streets of Columbia and enjoy the peaceful lifestyle for which Tyrrell County is known.  The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, Alligator River, Albemarle Sound, Scuppernong River, and Lake Phelps provide plenty of water related recreation.  Columbia is an easy sail to historic Edenton and Manteo.
